Nata a Firenze nel 1983, l'Accademia Vittorio Alfieri ha l'obiettivo di promuovere interessi artistici con particolare attenzione verso quelli letterari (Poesia, Canzone, Teatro) dando vita ad una serie di appuntamenti nel corso dei quali le persone accomunate dai medesimi interessi possano conoscersi, confrontarsi e trasmettersi reciproche esperienze per una crescita culturale dei soci. Born in Florence in 1983, the Academy Vittorio Alfieri, an effort to promote artistic interests with particular attention to the literary (poetry, song, Drama) creating a series of events during which people share the same interests can know each other, confront each other's experience and transmitted to a cultural growth of members.
Dal 2005 è operativa anche una "Sezione Ligure" con sede a Genova. Since 2005, is also operating a "Section Ligure" located in Genoa.

Altre iniziative, ad esempio recital di poesia a tema, si tengono in varie sedi, ma l'attività che maggiormente caratterizza l'Accademia è il Laboratorio di Poesia, che spazia dalla versificazione alla lettura e che dal 1995 è operante a Firenze e dal 2007 anche a Genova.
