Reputo interessante pubblicare il testo di tre circolari della Regia Intendenza di Chiavari emesse tra il 1850 ed il 1856, periodo in cui il comune di Santo Stefano d'Aveto era parte integrante del regno di Vittorio Emanuele II. Le circolari, che si trovano nell'Archivio comunale di Santo Stefano d'Aveto - carte sparse, riguardano l'introduzione della scuola pubblica (almeno dal 1850 a Santo Stefano d'Aveto, dal 1856 a Rezzoaglio e ad Alpepiana) sul territorio della Val d'Aveto. Il 21 novembre 1856 il Consiglio Provinciale d'Istruzione aveva già provveduto a stanziare "in favore di questo Comune (Santo Stefano d'Aveto) la somma di franchi cento per migliorare lo stipendio della scuola di Rosuaglio ed Alpipiana onde potervi stabilire scuole regolari". Notevole il richiamo che viene fatto al sindaco di Santo Stefano d'Aveto riguardo la destinazione della somma: "L'Intendente infrascritto si à ben grata premura di restar inteso il Sig.r Sindaco di S. Stefano di tale assegnamento, con avertir che è precisa intenzione del Ministero che il denaro consegnato per tale titolo venga realmente erogato in pro dell'istruzione e ciò con rigoroso divieto che sia destinato ad altro uso" . Il seguente passo tratto dalla pagina 175 del testo di G. The following excerpt from page 175 of the text of G.
